Book of Enchantment

A scientist, Professor Anderson, has invented a machine that can send a person into the fictional world of whichever book he may be reading. He sent his daughter, Enid, into fairyland two days ago, and she has not returned. He asks Batman and Robin to go in and retrieve her.

The machine works, and in fairyland, they meet Father Time, who tells them Enid has been captured by Gruel Gruel, the black witch. He also reveals a danger to them: they must rescue Enid before the day ends, for anyone who remains in fairyland for three days must remain forever.

Batman and Robin navigate several fantastic encounters before arriving at the witch's castle. From a denizen of the castle, Batman learns the secret of defeating the witch's power, and when she finds herself powerless, she hurls herself off the parapet of the castle. The three return to the real world just in the nick of time.
