The Dissociation of Haruhi Suzumiya

A new school year begins, the SOS-dan seeks new members, and the rival factions are beginning to move against our heroes. The latter half of the book uses an unusual structure: at a certain point the story diverges, and two parallel stories are told. Why? Unclear: this book ends on 'to be continued'. It's interesting to see things happening, but the lack of any resolution in this volume is a little disappointing.
