In "The Boredom of Haruhi Suzumiya", the SOS-dan participate in a baseball tournament.

In "Bamboo Leaf Rhapsody", Kyon travels three years back in time, meeting a younger version of Haruhi and, perhaps, setting her on the path that lead to the creation of the SOS-dan.

In "Mysterique Sign", the SOS-dan (minus Haruhi) defeat a data entity in the form of a giant cave cricket, which was awakened by the SOS-dan logo that Haruhi drew.

In "Remote Island Syndrome", the SOS-dan visit a remote island and solve a murder mystery. Unlike the animated adaptation, Kyon's sister does not accompany them.
