Robinson Crusoe

Foundations of Science Fiction: A Study in Imagination and Evolution mentions this book repeatedly, but doesn't delve much into how Crusoe influenced sf. Personally, I think that its influence is very clear--even non-castaway sf stories often have elements of testing the protagonist's ingenuity in overcoming challenges with whatever resources may be scavenged. Granted, this isn't the sole domain of Crusoe, but it'd be folly to ignore its influence.
