bashing

Bashing a character means showing them in the worst light--even if it requires outright invention and OOC behavior--and, typically, giving them their just deserts. This is the sort of thing TV Tropes calls "Ron the Death Eater".

Some fics are written for the sole purpose of bashing a character, and others do it incidentally in the course of the story. Since milder examples are common in fanfiction, stories tagged here should either be unusually extreme, or else explicitly described as such by the author.
