Guardians of Ga'hoole
Fairly good. It has something of the annoying tone of a children's book--explaining too simply things that are obvious--but it manages to be pretty interesting. Also: cult that kidnaps children and brainwashes them so they can use them to wage war and take over the world? Bloody death of allies? Evil authority figures? It's pretty harsh, for a children's book.
