Batman has captured the crook responsible for bombing Dent's house: Mickey Sullivan. They tell him they've got him for the murder of Dent, and pressure him to confess who hired him, but he keeps silent. Sullivan and his whole gang, The Irish, cheerfully confess to the crime, but won't give up their client.
In a flashback, we see that while Batman was apprehending Sullivan, they stumbled across Solomon Grundy in a sewer, and Batman was forced to fight him, reluctantly, since he had nothing to do with the crime.
It is revealed that Dent survived–in fact, they swap him for Sullivan in hopes he could convince the other members of the gang to give up some useful information, but it's a bust. Dent seems uninjured, but his wife is in the hospital, seriously injured.
After this unproductive evening, Dent visits his wife in the hospital, Gordon returns home to find a cold Thanksgiving dinner on the table, and Batman leaves a plate of food for Grundy, as an apology. Meanwhile The Irish are enjoying a feast when they are all shot, in the same manner as Johnny Viti.
